Meet The Trainer

Robin Brown is the owner of Obedience Dynamics, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer  and a Canine Behavior Consultant, offering private and group behavioral training for puppies and adult dogs.

Robin trains loveable family dogs as well as those who pose a temperament challenge using positive training methods.  She has owned and loved dogs since childhood and has always had a passion for working with them.

Robin has an impressive educational background in Applied Canine Science and keeps current with continuing education and relevant conferences.  Her experience comes from training family dogs, obedience competitors, working dogs, therapy dogs and reshaping dog's behavioral issues.  She is also actively involved in working with rescue dogs.

Robin is certified through CCPDT (Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers), is a Professional Member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) which is a professional organization of individuals committed to becoming better trainers and consultants through education and are dedicated to educating the public about dog friendly training techniques.

Robin's unique approach includes a system that she has developed through education,  years of research and personal experience. Robin has a gift for connecting with animals. They respond to her almost immediately.  She will teach you what you need to know to do the same for your animal. Robin will also make sure you have a chance to apply what you are learning throughout the process.

In addition, Robin is a Certified Evaluator for the AKC's Canine
Good Citizen Program, and a Certified Evaluator for the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Program.

Robin's training partner is Reason (pictured above), a 6.5 year old Golden Retriever - also known as McDreamy.   Reason's cuddle partner (when Robin isn't available) is Kirby, a 17 year old Main Coon cat.  Robin also has a QuarterHorse named Ryleigh.

If there are no dogs in heaven, when I die I want to go where they went."

The Obedience Dynamics approach to training is based in positive reinforcement within a holistic philosophy that focuses on the dog/human relationship.

Current trends in training focus on the principals and theories of operant conditioning - which fails to treat the dog as a whole.  This scientific approach ignores emotions.  To deny an animal's emotions is to distance yourself from him as a feeling being.

Obedience Dynamics is honored to have been voted "Best of Detroit" in 2007!

Obedience Dynamics placed in the Top 5 Best Trainers
